Ethen has been suffering sooooo much from allergies this season. I thought it was just seasonal, you know typical pollen, dust... whatever... but it's getting a little crazy. If I do not give him a children's Claritin AND a dose of Albuterol from the nebulizer he's up all night (literally) coughing. I feel just awful watching this little guy suffering, trying to catch his breath...
So today I scheduled an appointment to see if we could get a referral to an allergist to get him tested to see what specifically he is allergic to, because lets face it, I don't think this is just seasonal anymore. Especially when we have animals and on a recent trip to OREGON we stayed at gramma's house (no animals) and had no issue with the cough, yet at my aunt's house (animals) we had cough issues!
I was expecting the referral where Ethen would be subjected to the myriad of tiny scratches to determine the specific allergen. NOT THE CASE! A simple blood test, I say simple but having to restrain a screaming, squirmy toddler isn't exactly... simple!
But all-in-all Ethen did really well and the crying subsided withing seconds of being scooped up in mommy's arms! He was really mad at the phlebotomist but wasn't mad at me at all... SCORE! In a few days I will be hearing from the doctor with the results and can take a more proactive approach to this allergy problem! This may be the end of our furry, four legged friends.... **tear**
Goodness sakes! I hope they find what he is allergic to and it is something you can eliminate easily. My sister had/has major allergies and they had to poke her a billion times so just be glad they didn't have to do that to Ethan. Good luck...
