Boomer

So we rescued this Golden Retriever a couple of months ago. We were nervous about it at first because of Ethen’s allergies – but he has been managing very well. This dog has warmed his way into our hearts and there’s no doubt that he’s meant to be with us! So this post is all about Boomer. Appropriately named because his tail – when it hits, well, anything – makes the loudest noise! BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!

Valkyrie Combat Grand Opening

Yesterday I did my second vendor booth for Thrive. Valkyrie Combat is a firearms customization shop. They do custom cerakote paint jobs. They even let Jonathon do our AR-15 to demonstrate them.

They do amazing work and I was happy to be a part of the event. This event definitely went better than my last one. I implemented a few new ideas and avoided the pitfalls of my last event!

I went from this event straight to our Ward’s Trunk or Treat. Ethen refused to dress up because his new friend, Corey, wasn’t dressed up. I failed again to get pictures at this event. I was so tired and my battery had died from use during the day! SORRY!!! Needless to say – I was about as drained as the battery on my phone was!

Pinecrest’s Trunk or Treat

Ethen’s school, Pinecrest Academy, hosted their annual Trunk or Treat yesterday. We had a blast. This year Ethen wanted to be a Marine Vampire – but changed it to just a vampire at the last minute. We had lots of fun going around to the cars (some of which went all out), playing games and eating some food! Jonathon went as a Tactical Vampire Hunter and I was… myself!

Painting Pumpkins–A YW Activity

We had a fun time painting pumpkins for Halloween at our activity this week! We have some really talented girls and they amaze and inspire me everyday!!!

Here is mine and Ethen’s pumpkins! Ethen loved doing this and I prefer painting over carving any day. Not that I don’t mind getting messy – I just always hated the clean up of pumpkin guts!!!

Gun Safety

Today I took Ethen to Green Valley Shooting Range for a safety course that they offer kids. He was a lucky kid today and got a one on one lesson about not only firearm safety but safety in general! It was pretty neat! I highly recommend that all kids take some kind of safety course. They are usually free and presented by a certified NRA instructor.
