Ethen was playing outside, in the dark, and of course running because he’s a boy. Being dark he couldn’t see; tripped and face planted into the dirt. He comes SCREAMIN’ into the house. I go to clean him up and find a rock LODGED in his head!!! WOW, dude – you had some velocity on that nose dive!
I’m not sure what Ethen was doing, I can only speculate that his feet were cold!
I love this kid – he cracks me up!!!
My hubby is so awesome. He cerakoted one of my knives! It looks pretty darn cool if you ask me!!!
He’s getting pretty good at this cerakote business! Thankfully Valkyrie Combat has hired him on temporarily, until he finds work elsewhere. We are still so blessed!
We didn’t have much money to spend for Ethen’s birthday party. So we opted to take a few of his friends shooting. We took the .22 rifles only and set up a stand and attached balloons to them for targets! The kids LOVED to see them pop when they hit it!
Safety first. Of course we had to set the rules and ensured that everyone understood them!

Everyone did a great job and hit at least one balloon. Now off for some cake and presents!!!
We played a mean trick and got re-lighting candles for his cake! He was so confused!!!

Today my baby turned SEVEN years old! I can hardly believe how quickly time has just FLOWN by! Since today is Wednesday we will be celebrating this weekend. BUT I couldn’t let the day go by without letting Ethen know just how special he really is! We were limited on funds (since Jonathon just lost his job – but that’s another story) but I had some red streamers that I hung all over his door. So he would have a nice surprise when he woke up!!!
He LOVED it!!!
Ethen, you are the coolest kid I’ve ever met. You are super smart, caring, funny and full of love! You are one of a kind and I’m so grateful that Heavenly Father gave you to me! I am so honored to be your mom!!! I love you baby!!! (yes, you’ll ALWAYS be my baby – so get over it!)
Happy Birthday to me – I can’t believe I’m 33!!! We didn’t celebrate or do anything special, Jonathon had to work, so Ethen and I ordered pizza and watched a movie. We didn’t go trick or treating either – we usually only do that at the trunk or treat. I had the porch light off so no trick or treaters would knock on the door and then be disappointed because I had not candy. When our pizza arrived I turned it on so I could see and not leave the delivery person feeling uncomfortable. Unfortunately I forgot to turn it off again when I closed the door. A few minutes later the bell rang! I felt so bad turning away these sweet innocent babes dressed so adorably!!! As I was closing the door, Ethen tells me “Mom, they can have some of my candy!”
I quickly opened the door and called after them and explained what was happening. Of course the other mom’s awed at the sweet gesture and I wanted to cry. I was so overjoyed at the generosity and love that Ethen showed! He is such a great kid!!! Definitely the best birthday present a mom could receive – the gift that her efforts are paying off!!! I couldn’t let this awesome moment go unremembered and needed to include it for our family books!
