If you’re like me you don’t like to spend money on things… call me cheap but I prefer… frugal!
My post before showed my obsession with Pinterest – well I found THIS on there too!!! DIY magazine holders! BRILLIANT!!!
I have always needed these but always thought they were WAY over priced so never got them… now I’ll just make my own… thank you very much!
I found this post DIY_Magazine_Holder and thought I’d give it a try… if you don’t want to go to the website I’ll show you here…. (Just wanted to give credit where credit is due!)
Here’s the 411!!!
- You will need an empty cereal box (I found that the small boxes don’t quite fit the magazines so opt for the bigger ones if you can!)
- Ruler
- 2 – 12 in scrapbook papers
- Adhesive (spray or roller)
- Scissors
OK here we go!
Fist cut the flaps off the box
Then, using the ruler, on one side mark at 5 inches
Using the ruler, draw a line from that mark to the opposite corner on both sides
Cut along these lines (don’t forget to save that Box Top for your school!!!)
Next trace each side onto the back of the scrapbook paper (if there is a pattern make sure it’s facing the way you want it to) and cut them out.
Next taking the adhesive, glue each side on! VIOLA!!!
I added a ribbon for decoration but that’s completely optional!!! I shall never have to buy a magazine holder EVER and since we ALWAYS have cereal I’ll pretty much always have the supplies to make new ones!
Hope this helps you as much as it did me!!!
