Where on earth is Lava Hot Springs (pronounced Lava with a short “a” not like lava from a volcano)? In the middle of no where, that’s where!!!
My mother is moving there so we followed her up on Friday May 3rd. It was a fun little trip. It took us 11 hours to drive there… YIKES! Ethen had a blast though. New sights, sounds and animals!!!
As we were going through the canyon outside of St. George, Ethen proclaims that on this trip he’s going to see a Lion, Tiger, Cheetah and a Zebra. Not to mention cows and horses. Well he saw a Zebra!!! Just south of Nephi, Utah there is a rest stop that had a petting zoo! Ethen SCREAMS from the backseat… A ZEBRA!!! We thought he was seeing things, but there really was a zebra!!! He was an ornery ole’ thing… Pushed his way between the fence and the donkeys then tried to bite everyone!!! Ethen also saw some sheep, a goat, ponies, a bull, emus, an ostrich, and alpacas! Needless to say our car stunk for a bit after visiting the petting zoo!!!

Ethen got to help feed a baby calf. It’s mother abandoned him so my mom has been nursing him. They play chase too. My mom runs and he’ll run after her! I never thought I’d see my mother run though!!!

Lil’man made a new best friend while we were there. Meet Toby. Needless to say with Ethen’s EXTREME dog allergy… he was doped up on Benadryl the WHOLE time we were there!!!
Ethen made it known that while he was there – Toby was HIS dog. When he left Toby would go back to being GW’s dog until he came back! This kid of mine!!!

Ethen played outside so much. I don’t think he was in the house for more than 5 minutes at a time – except for sleeping!
You can’t really see him but Ethen is taking a walk down the drive way! He’s to the right side of the road!!! He loved exploring!!!

Of course you know that Ethen would find the trampoline! This kid was flipping and jumping so high! I thought I’d die! Not really. I enjoyed that I could let him play outside and not really have to worry about him!

Ethen loved helping feed the animals! He even fed a horse some grain. He said it tickled and felt yucky!!! Oh kids these days!!!
I’m not sure what my mother was trying to accomplish here but she wasn’t successful! Hey ma’ what is this… save a horse ride a cow?

Of course we couldn’t leave Idaho without teaching Nana and GW how to play Book of Mormon Memory… of course Ethen won… not by much though!
It was a blast being in Idaho! Ethen can’t wait for July when we go back up for the wedding!
