Every year we have the tradition of setting up our Christmas Tree and decorations the Friday after Thanksgiving. We do not brave the stores for “Black Friday” and honestly think people are insane to stand in line outside a store for HOURS, just to face lines and madness inside the store! I think I would rather be with my family. Most of our Christmas shopping is complete and on layaway as it is.
This year we did have to postpone our decorating one day because our good friend, Jasmine Purles, came up from California to do our family pictures. We had a blast and captured some great moments!
Here is a sneak peak….
It was a lot of fun – she even did 3 more families that day! She’s an amazing person (and photographer)!!!
So now on to the Christmas Tree! It was fun to have Ethen old enough to understand how to help this year. He had a blast helping put the ornaments on. Every time I would give him one to hang he would say “Oh thank you mommy, I was looking for that!” It was adorable!!!
We always have a fake tree – but that’s ok just more for Ethen to help put together!!!
A little higher there buddy!!!
Leave it to my family to crazy pose!!! JONATHON!
The best part is watching Ethen put the star on top of the tree!!! He kept asking when it was time for that!
This year I decided to try my hand and a Hodge-podge, yet coordinated decorating piece – here it is. I LOVE nativity scenes and have a candle holder of such so I took all of our red (and some silver) and came up with….
Well there ya have it! Our Christmas Tree tradition! I love this time of year. The birth of our Savior is one of the most important events in history. I remember when I was young I never truly understood the significance of this day, now that I am older – I look forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior more and more.
Merry Christmas from our house to yours!!!
We love you!!!
